Walked the Sanctuary yesterday around noon.  Still a loaded with fish.  Stream of fish started from the Ferry and went all the way to the mouth of the Russian River.  Big push of fish into the Russian yesterday starting around noon as well.  Limits were common on the Grayling end. Fish are still stacked up in holes from Pink Salmon up to the falls... Have a report?  Please share!!!

Another super day on the Russian River.  Limits were the norm.  Our guides limited out for 8 clients today.  Fished are stacked up in every hole.  Counts are now in the thousands per day and growing.  The water came up to just above opening day levels.  Reports from the Grayling fishing area for today was 5 stars with constant streams  of fish moving in to the river.

AWESOME FISHING!!!!   This run has been one of the best in a long time.  Fish continue to stream into the river.  Fish are holed up throughout the system.  Pink salmon down and up and the falls down are loaded with fresh Sockeye!!!  Fishing from Grayling down has been really good as well as fish continue to enter from the Sanctuary.

Absolute amazing day with fish streaming into the Russian River all day long.  Most limited quite quickly.  Believe ADFG were out counting fish today to determine weather to open the Sanctuary.  Most indicators are looking good for an opener next week.  Fridays count continues to show an upward trend and the count as of Friday was over 17k.  The biomass beyond the weir looks as if they will exceed the minimum escapement needed to sustain the run with an over abundance.  Perhaps a Monday EO with a Tuesday opener.[smile]

A lot of fish are moving into the Russian again.  Several are chrome bright.  Lots of limits yesterday and today. These are either early 2nd run fish or more of the 1st run.  Either way, as the water level starts to fall back to around 10 inches at the falls, the fish will start to stack up again like earlier in the run.  The river level was on the rise for a few day and now dropping back to opening levels.  Go get em!!!

Trout fishing has been 5 stars as usual for the Russian River.  We fished yesterday and did really well on a variety of nymphs and dry flies. My buddy John caught a nice one on flesh.  The fish are fresh and feisty.  This was a blast and we cant wait to hit it again next weekend.

should be a huge mount that entered yesterday as the latest school of 2nd run fish just shot through the Sanctuary yesterday.  We are hoping to find them today.

GoFish, we were trout fishing yesterday just above grayling when a large stream came through.  It was amazing around 3 or 4 in the afternoon when the clouds rolled in the fish started passing through.  Start at the Falls are today and work down from there.  You should run into several

Lots of fish moving in as the Sockeye run hits full swing.  The numbers continue to grow every day with the occasional Silver being spotted.  Trout fishing continues to do well.  Egg patterns will start to dominate as the first run spawners eggs start to drop into the lower section.  Six to eight Mil beads in washed out patterns will work best along with Glo Bugs and Tumble Eggs.

Walked into the Russian yesterday morning about midway and was amazed at the amount of Sockeye that moved in.  The water level is finally coming up to where they feel comfortable apparently and not just pushing through at night.  Trout fishing was equally awesome as we enjoyed multiple hook ups with egg patterns in washed out pink.

Still fishing extremely well on natural bead colors in sizes 6mm and 8mm.  The amount to Silvers remains strong and continue to climb.  Not much bear activity this year.  Hooked around 70 fish and released just as many.  The "Cache" has these HBLs for Silvers that are killing it!!  I have to tie some of those soon.  Purple and also Chartreuse have been working well for us.  Tight lines!!

Walked the Sanctuary from the ferry landing to Cotton Wood Hole today with Fly Bob. Great amount of chrome large sockeye stacked up at the ferry landing. Good amount throughout the Sanctuary. The mouth of the Russian was full of fish. Hole up to Cotton Wood had good amounts. Grayling also had a good amount. Reports from down below yesterday were limits by many as a large shot went through. Big amount headed this way as the run continues to build. Looking really good.
